NGWomen4Peace gives its condolences to the family and friends of Iniobong Umoren (Hinny), a Nigerian woman who was declared missing after she went for a job interview in Uyo on April 29, 2021 and later confirmed dead.

The Nigerian Police Force must convict the perpetrator(s) and charge them to court that justice may be served.

We use this medium to express our growing concern about the increasing rate of insecurity in Nigeria, especially for Nigerian Women and Girls who are frequently kidnapped, raped, assaulted, and killed.

We demand that the Nigerian Government treat this as an emergency and take actions, put resources in place to ensure the utmost security and protection of Nigerian Women and Girls, and that perpetrators of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) are brought to justice.

We urge the general public to join us this month as we raise awareness on 2021 National Week of Action for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG).

Thank you.

Signed,

NGWomen4Peace
